"I could lie in your bed but could I cry on your shoulder?' wonders Jennifer Sullivan on Scatterbrain, the first track of her self-titled EP. Combining emotionally raw lyrics with an Indie Jazz infusion, the songs are cemented with a voice that's reminiscent of the greats of the last millennium. It would be wrong, though, to pigeon hole Sullivan as a jazz singer. She's equally comfortable with folk and pop, or even rap and trip-hop, with live performances that both entice and enthrall. Think of her as a Chanteuse 2.0.
Backing up her prodigious musical talent, Sullivan is putting her education - as an Advertising Major at University of Texas, with time spent learning the entertainment business in Los Angeles and an internship at Warner Music Group - to good use through the creation of her own independent media company and record label.
